Universal Works is the brainchild of David Keyte, who’s inspiration comes from his formative years in a provincial midlands town in a working class family. He saw his father and uncle wear chore jackets to work, which formed the inspiration behind the Baker Jacket, contrasted by more elevated wear in the weekends which seeded his root interest in menswear. After working for some years as a signing apprentice, he expanded into fashion and following thirty years of industry experience under the likes of Maharishi established his own brand.
